JAIPUR: They may have been made for each other but will never be joined in holy matrimony. For the Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal and animal activists, in an act of moral policing, have denied 18 dogs the right to tie the knot. The dogs were to be married under Hindu rituals on Sunday. But faced with stiff opposition from the saffron brigade and People for Animals, a Haryana-based animal protection group, the organisers — B Positive and Pink City Canine Club — developed cold feet, cancelling the event. "We have decided not to hold the marriages of dogs. We feel sorry if it in any way has hurt sentiments of anyone," said a joint statement from Puja Rathi of B Positive and Seems Sethi of Pink City Canine Club. An organiser had earlier said the marriages of nine dogs and nine bitches, who had been matched after a lucky draw, was to be solemnised under Hindu rites, including a procession, rituals and a huge feast. A special dance party had also been organised, where 50 species of dogs were to wag their tails and shake a paw. While the saffron brigade is angry about the mockery being made of Hindu sentiments, PFA (Haryana) chairman Naresh Kadyan earlier sent a letter to the Rajasthan government's resident commissioner in Delhi requesting him to stop the mass wedding as it was cruel. He also urged the commissioner to direct police to lodge an FIR against the organisers. "In my opinion, marriage of dogs is cruelty on animals," he said, adding that in the name of marriage, "people hold the front legs of the dogs against their will and force them to dance, which is cruel. The lights, noise, sound used in these kinds of events also hurt them." Though the organisers have apologised for the wedding plans, they plan to go ahead with the other events, including a beauty pageant for "unmarried dogs". Some of the other events of the dog show — aimed at popularising canine culture in the city — include a fashion show in which the designers of a Jaipur-based institute of fashion would dress the canines in evening wear, party wear, casual wear, summer wear and winter wear.

In a PIL, social activist Naresh Kadyan has sought directions to Google and You Tube to withdraw the videoclip on the late Indira Gandhi. The petition is expected to come up before Justice Nawab Singh of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday.
Kadian has also sought directions to the Chandigarh Police to register an FIR against Google, You Tube and others for showing the video, which was “vulgar.” Kadian will appear in person in the matter

Honoured for saving wildlife

Mr Naresh Kumar Kadyan, chairman of People for Animals, Haryana, was honoured by the district administration on the Republic Day for his services to protect wildlife. Mr Kadyan, Gurgaon district officer of Haryana Khadi and village Industries Board, has always remained on the forefront in social work. Among other things, he used to organise blood donation camp on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.

The Chairman of People for Animals, Haryana, Mr Naresh Kadyan, was honoured with the merit certificate for his services in checking cruelty to animals by the former President, Mr K. R. Narayanan, recently.
The award has been constituted by Venu Menon Animal Allies Foundation. He was awarded the certificate for his role “in bringing to light violations by major circus companies on exhibition and training of animals to the Union Ministry”.
Speaking to NCR Tribune, he said there should be a complete ban on cow slaughter and illegal smuggling of cows from one state to another. He has made a suggestion to the central government for amending the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, because the punishment stipulated in each section of the Act is very nominal. The PCA Act should be completely cognisable. It is partly cognisable now.
Mr Kadyan helped the administration seize 29 lions and one bear from a Russian circus, four tigers from Asiad circus, four lions, two pups and one bear from Amar circus. He was instrumental in the recovery of four black bucks from farmhouses.Naresh Kadyan contributions :-

Shri. Naresh kr. kadyan, Chairman, ' PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS HARYANA ', lodged more then 450 FIR's of animal cruelty through out the country. He has a national record in his name; he has lodged FIR's against the smugglers of cows after stopping two cattle trains with in 15 days - on 10th. December, 2000 a train carrying cows for slaughtering from Qila-Raipur- Panjab to Howarah - west Bengal diverted by the railway authority & kept the train in Tugalakabad-Delhi but Naresh Kadyan search it out & hijack the train along with cows - then brought to Faridabad railway station & lodged FIR, after getting stay orders from the local courts - the cows were kept in local ‘Gaushalas’, Ld court convict the offenders. On 28th December, 2000 midnight another cattle train carrying cows for the same route was stopped at Gaziabad & FIR was lodged by the Naresh Kadyan with GRP, Ld Allahabad high court up hold the objections raised by the Naresh Kadyan. This is the national record in the history of animal rights & their welfare. Shri. Naresh kr.kadyan introduced a rehabilitation of kalanders / dancing bears scheme to the then union minister & the same is implemented by the some NGO's in the country. He has caught mongoose hair paints brush trade & lodged maximum FIR’s, he has rescued 29 lions & a bear from the RUSSIAN KOMAL CIRCUS from Palwal - this is also a record recovery of the country. In village Ahulana (Sonepat) Gram Panchyat bio-cot the Kumhar community families of the village - due to this their animals died with hunger / thrist - but Naresh Kadyan took this matter to the NHRC which was taken up by the commission on 31-8-07 vide case no. 1653/7/19/07-08/UC , notice issued to S.P Sonepat to report within four weeks & S.P replied to NHRC on 16-10-07 which was again placed before Commission on dated 27-11-07, now NHRC ask to Naresh Kadyan to comment by 3-1-08.
